Foods that contain starch or in simpler terms, carbohydrates are vital sources of vitamins and fiber. Foods like bread, potatoes, rice, oats have an abundant quantity of starch. Such foods are supposed to be the main part of each meal.
Proteins, Milk, and Milk products
Foods like fish, poultry, eggs, beans, and nuts are huge sources of proteins. It is advised to have some amount of protein every day. One should choose lean meat and cook it using a little amount of fat. In the case of eggs, poultry, and pork, they should be cooked thoroughly.
It should be checked that there is no pink meat and there is no red content in the juices. Milk and milk products such as cheese, yogurt are important for the body as they consist of calcium and other essential nutrients that the body needs.
Avoid high sugar, salt, and fat
Excessive intake of the 2 whites- salt and sugar are harmful to the body. They also include all the spreading fats- oils, salad dressings, cream and much more. Such foods should be consumed in limited quantity. Sugar consists of calories and only contributes to weight gain and decay of teeth. Fats have a very high amount of calories and they too add to the weight. They also add the amount of cholesterol in the blood. This adds the risk of having a heart disease. During pregnancy, avoid or at the most cut down on the intake of saturated fat, and instead, consume foods that are rich in polyunsaturated or monounsaturated fats. These tips can come handy during pregnancy.
